Numbering pages is usually one of the last steps before a document goes out — a report, a filing, a manuscript — exactly when you'd rather not add a server upload to the process. NearPDF stamps the numbers locally, right in your browser.
The stamp is intentionally simple: a small gray number at the bottom center, always starting at 1 and following the current page order. There's no "skip the cover" or "start at 5" option yet, but there's a clean workaround: remove the cover page here, save the numbered body, then use the Merge tool to put the unnumbered cover back in front. Also worth knowing: the tool doesn't detect numbers your document already has — stamping a pre-numbered file leaves you with both sets. And because numbering follows the grid, adding several files numbers them as one continuous document, which is exactly what you want when paginating a combined report.
At the bottom center of each page, matching that page's own orientation — including pages you've manually rotated.
Not yet — numbering always starts at 1 and follows the current page order, so reorder or remove pages first if you need a different sequence.
NearPDF doesn't detect or replace existing numbers; it stamps its own at the bottom center regardless. If your file is already numbered you'll end up with both sets, so this tool is best for documents that don't have numbers yet.
Once the page is loaded, all processing happens locally in your browser.
