Why split a PDF without uploading it to a server?

Splitting a PDF often means pulling pages out of something you'd rather not hand to a stranger's server — a signed contract, a scan of an ID, a medical report. NearPDF splits the file entirely on your device, so those pages never leave it.

How it works

1. Drop the PDF you want to split. You can add several files at once — all their pages join the same grid.
2. Review the thumbnails and delete any pages you don't want in the output; reorder or rotate pages if needed.
3. Press Split. Each remaining page is copied into its own single-page PDF, entirely on your device.
4. Download the result as one ZIP file. The files inside are numbered in order — page-01.pdf, page-02.pdf, … — so they sort correctly everywhere.

No range picker — here is the workaround

NearPDF's split is deliberately simple: one output PDF per page, no custom ranges. If you need a range — say pages 4–9 as one document — there are two short routes. Either delete every page outside the range in the workspace and use the main editor's Save to get that range as a single PDF, or split everything and merge the pieces you want back together with the Merge tool. The output comes as a ZIP rather than dozens of separate downloads because your browser would prompt for each file individually; inside the ZIP, names are zero-padded (page-01, page-02, …) so the pages stay in order in any file manager.

Does splitting give me one file per page, or can I set custom ranges?

Each page becomes its own single-page PDF, delivered together in one ZIP file. To keep specific pages together as a range instead, remove the ones you don't want from the workspace before splitting, or merge the resulting single pages back together afterward.

Can I reorder or rotate pages before splitting them?

Yes — drag pages into a new order or rotate individual pages in the workspace grid; the split files follow whatever arrangement you set.

Why do I get a ZIP file instead of individual PDF downloads?

Splitting a 40-page file would otherwise mean 40 browser download prompts. Packing the single-page PDFs into one ZIP keeps it to a single download, and the zero-padded names inside keep the pages in order.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, all processing happens locally in your browser.
