How do I know NearPDF isn't uploading my file somewhere?

With a cloud tool, you're trusting that a file gets deleted after processing — there's no way to check. NearPDF doesn't ask for that trust: open your browser's network tab while merging or splitting a file, and there's no upload request to watch, because the file never leaves your device to begin with.

How it works

1. Open the tool and drop your PDFs straight onto the page. There's no account step and no upload progress bar — because there is no upload.
2. Every page appears in one editing grid: combine files, reorder, rotate and delete pages — the same everyday jobs you'd otherwise queue up on a cloud site, in one pass.
3. Press Save. The work happens in a background worker on your own device, so even large files don't freeze the page.
4. Download the result. Your document existed in exactly one place the whole time: on your device.

What NearPDF covers — and what still needs a cloud tool

An honest comparison cuts both ways. NearPDF covers the page-level tasks that make up most everyday PDF work — merging, splitting, reordering, rotating, deleting pages, JPG export, page numbers, watermarks — and does them without your file ever leaving your device. Full cloud suites like iLovePDF also offer jobs that need heavy server-side engines: PDF compression, OCR on scans, and conversion to and from Word, Excel or PowerPoint. NearPDF doesn't pretend to do those on-device. The way to think about it: for anything on this page's tool list, there's no reason to upload your document at all; for OCR or Office conversion you'll still need a tool that processes it elsewhere — and then it's worth deciding deliberately which documents you're willing to send.

Does NearPDF upload my PDF to a server, the way cloud PDF tools do?

No. NearPDF has no server-side processing at all — everything runs locally in your browser. A strict Content-Security-Policy technically blocks any request that could send your file data out, and our own end-to-end tests verify zero external requests during the whole flow.

Is NearPDF free, and do I need to sign up like some PDF sites require?

It's completely free with no account and no sign-up. There's no usage limit tied to a plan or a daily task cap.

Can I use NearPDF on a phone or tablet?

Yes — it runs in mobile browsers with the same interface, and you can install it as an app from the browser menu. On phones the per-file limit is a more conservative 50 MB, to stay within mobile memory.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, all processing happens locally in your browser.
